GET TO KNOW ME
I am currently a senior working towards attaining my Bachelors degree in Film and Media with a minor in Sociology. This is my second semester working as a Peer Consultant at the Writing & Speaking Studio, where I am also one of the hosts of the MicroPROgressions Podcast!
I was born and raised in Indonesia and I moved to New York to study film here at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Film has always been my thing, I can't remember a time in my life when it wasn't. I never really understood what it was about filmmaking that drew me to it but, once I got to college, it became clear to me. Surrounded by so many creative minds, all motivated to create art and inspire others, I realized that I'm one of them too. I always saw myself as a student but it was FIT that made me realize I'm an artist. And just like every other artist, I want to create, to inspire, and to tell authentic and significant stories. It is this love for storytelling that also drew me to the Writing & Speaking Studio. As a Peer Consultant, I have helped others create, inspire, and tell their stories. Working here has not only allowed me to help others, but also to improve my own writing and speaking skills that, in turn, has helped me develop my filmmaking skills. That is what I love the most about the studio--you can come here to work on a writing or speaking assignment and leave with so much more. |
